Beaches of Baška

One of the region’s most attractive locations is undoubtedly the beach of Vela Plaža, the most popular with those who come to swim in the area.
Firstly, Vela Plaža is one of Baška’s symbols, and a key element in it’s landscape, it is 1,800 metres (1.1. mi) long and faces a crystal-clear sea. Since 1999 it has been the proud recipieng of the European Blue Flag award, which testifies to it’s high-quality standards.

Secondly, many activities and entertainments await visitors there: restaurants and cafes are present all around it, and pedal boats, windsurf boards, beach umbrellas, and sun loungers are available for rent.

Besides Vela Plaža, Baška is also home to more than thirty beaches; for example – the most famous of these are the ones near the bays of Vela Luka and Mala Luka, the FKK beach near the Bunculuka camp, and the beaches of Konjska, Vrženica, Jablanovo, Storiš?e, and Dubna.

While many beaches may be reached on foot, some require a boat or taxi boat ride; the view from a distance which the last option offers, however, allows for a better enjoyment of the gorgeous local beaches steeped in peace and quiet.

Spending the summer on Baška’s beaches makes for an unforgettable vacation. Many of their visiting guests keep finding new ways to enjoy and relax themselves in the area year after year; for many of them the warm Mediterranean climate, the ubiquitous sunshine, the local pristine nature and the abundance of entertaining activities have turned spending the summer in Baška into an unmissable tradition.
